Southern California residents spanning from Los Angeles to Orange County are planning to protest for more police protection, through the organization AntiCrimeLA, as brazen crimes continue to plague the city and surrounding areas. Many residents are scared to venture out of their homes wearing jewelry, for fear of being robbed by armed criminals, many of whom are repeat offenders. There is also an uptick in home invasions, some in broad daylight, which has residents on edge. This article details some of the more egregious examples of recent crimes.
In April of this year, residents of a Bel-Air home were victims of a violent home invasion after they were tied up by intruders during an overnight robbery. Masked and armed male robbers entered the house in the 1300 block of Casiano Road and ransacked it. A woman in her 60’s and a man in his 70’s were left bruised after being bound and punched. The LAPD conducted a search of the area, but the suspects remain at large.
Three women were killed and four others were injured during a 2:30 a.m. shooting at a short-term rental property thispast January in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles. Officials said the shooting happened in front of the home. When officers arrived at the scene, they located multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Three victims were declared dead at the scene. They were identified by the LA County coroner as 33-year-old Iyana Hutton of Chicago, 29-year-old Nenah Davis from Bolingbrook, Illinois, and 26-year-old Destiny Sims of Buckeye, Arizona.
This was at least the sixth mass shooting in California that month, coming exactly a week after 11 people were killed during a mass shooting at a dance studio in Monterey Park.In November of 2022 there were two crime reports that occurred in Bel-Air, both on the 700 block of Stradella Road and within hours of one another. LAPD advises Bel-Air residents should monitor suspicious activities in your neighborhood and alert your neighbors.
On August 17, 2022, a man was shot outside a restaurant in Beverly Hills. The shooting took place on the 100 block of North Canon Drive, near Wilshire Boulevard. The shooting occurred in front of Nusr-Et Steakhouse next to Spago, the famous Wolfgang Puck restaurant, according to ABC7. According to CBS2, the wounded man was a patron of a restaurant who stepped outside to smoke, and as he was smoking, he was struck in the lower back by at least one bullet fired from across the street. In January of this year there was a 3 day search conducted bythe Beverly Hills Police Department for a man accused oftrespassingin a Beverly Hills neighborhood.
Another type of crime that continues to have the community on edge is exemplified by the Terror in Bel Air story: the crime of stalking, in a case that ended up in court in 2022. Stalking instills ongoing fear in its victims, and is disruptive to their lives, as women have to constantly look over their shoulders. The next portion of this article goes into more detail as it delves into the mind of the Bel Air stalker.
Jose Luis Fitoria Jr., age 50, was accused of preying on a young female influencer and model (Victim X). Court documents show these acts of stalking, harassment, intimidation, and threats, occurred in the workplace at XY Systems/Zeppo Products (XY/Zeppo) located in a home office on Nalin Drive in Bel Air, CA.
Fitoria is a repeat offender with an extensive violent criminal history. He has been previously convicted of five crimes. In the workplace (XY/Zeppo) he boasted about doing time, having a gun, completing community service for Caltrans, and beating up an ex-girlfriend (in an attempt to intimidate Victim X, Fitoria screamed that his ex-girlfriend put a restraining order on him and he put one on her out of revenge). He let Victim X know he was cyber stalking her (which Victim X documented detailing the exact dates and times) and she would receive phone calls from the Glendora area(where Fitoria resides). Documents state that on one instance Fitoria stood over Victim X’s desk, screaming and pounding his chest in a jealous rage after she was praised by the owner for a job well done of making sales. As caught on the security camera the owner announced that he would be leaving the work site for a few hours, following this you can hear Fitoria screaming “I can make sales too,” while excessively beating his chest. Witnesses corroborated this. The attacks were also captured on a security camera. Victim X received online correspondence from an individual with the screen name of JoseF and calls from the Glendora area while there was a temporary restraining order in place. Court documents show that Fitoria has a history of lying under oath in court. Fitoria has also been charged with disrupting the court.
Victim X was intimidated, extorted, threatened, and harassed by her employer named Frank, for attempting to obtain a restraining order against Fitoria. Due to these acts Victim X’s attorney failed to secure a restraining order. Sources have come forward to disclose that Frank is holding Victim X’s dog hostage, as a way of punishment for reporting the crimes committed by Fitoria.
A source came forward to confirm Fitioria showed them Victim X’s social media account, and they responded that they wanted no part of being involved with his “stalking spree.” Via multiple sources XY/Zeppo business owner Frank is reported to be of Iranian descent. This has led some observers to draw parallels between this incident and that of the 22-year-old Iranian woman MahsaAmini who was murdered while in custody for not wearing her Islamic headscarves (hijab), as sources have detailed that Victim X is also Middle Eastern.
Fitoria was also sabotaging Victim X’s work i.e. the ads she would post for the company, trying to make Victim X look bad. This source divulged that Fitoria got his own adult children Nathan and Klarissa involved with the stalking spree. The source stated that they suspect Fitoria is blackmailing the business owner as Fitoria would brag that he knows secrets about the owner’s sister and her blood relation. “I am shocked that the owner Frank failed to protect Victim X as he stated to all of us on numerous occasions that she was his daughter, she would spend every holiday with him and his family, and he had pictures of Victim X with his family around his house.”
Ben, a former Los Angeles detective, stated that he reviewed the evidence before he left the force. He specified that there is clearly audio on the security cameras and Fitoria did commit the crimes he has been accused of.
As Fitoria also does work for restaurants Della Terra and HauteMess in Los Angeles, patrons of these restaurants have attempted to email the owner and leave Google/Yelp reviews regarding his criminal employee. An employee of Della Terra, going by the name Jane, stated that she “hopes that the owner, does the right thing upon finding out that Fitoria has a criminal past, and gets justice for Victim X.”
Sources also divulged that Fitoria works as a printer repair man under a (Hewlett-Packard) contract through Zeppo Products, and he enters the homes of residents in Los Angeles and Orange county. Fitoria is also said to be doing work for FedEx, and is a maintenance man at The Met in Woodland Hills, CA using the name Luis Fitoria.
Parents are furiousasFitoria’s coconspirator, Roxanna Yolanda Guevara Monterrey’sdaughter attends grade school in the Los Angeles area. They are fearful that the violent convicted criminal Fitoria, has access to their children. Patients of UCLA medical are also outraged as a third accomplice of the stalking spree, Adrienne M. Landin, works as an office clerk there. Upon knowing he would be court-ordered to turn in his phone for evidence, Fitoria, Monterrey, and Landin changed their phone numbers on February 25, 2022. There is also substantial evidence that proves Monterrey committed perjury.
A Bel Air resident by the name of Reza, said “I am ashamed to learn that this business owner is of Iranian descent, the owner Frank is a horrible representation of the Persian community.” A neighbor of The XY business owner, that prefers to go by Tina, recalls the neighboring house being broken into while Fitoria was working out of the Bel Air home. She states that she is terrified for her own safety and that of the other females in her family. Various neighborhood watch groups have since been formed to protect the community. It is urged that residents remain vigilant as Fitoria could be stalking you or your daughter. To ensure that this case raises enough funds to go to a higher court, please deliver donations to the Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Station, in the name of (Victim X).Bel-Air residents can sign-up for crime updates by visiting the Bel-Air Association website at www.belairassociation.org.
